Invited to host a 5k race at 33 clubs in 20 states on Veterans Day Weekend

DALLAS, TX (October 23, 2023)Invited, the World Leader in Private Clubs, announced today its participation in Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP)’s Carry Forward® 5K, a unique and inspiring event that puts WWP’s mission of honoring and empowering wounded warriors into motion. Invited will host Carry Forward 5k races at thirty-three clubs across twenty states. Participants can walk, jog, or run and carry either a flag, a weight of one to 100 pounds, or another person.

The race will raise critical funds for warriors and their families and bring awareness for WWP and thousands of American veterans who sustained physical and mental injuries while serving. The race will take place during the Veterans Day weekend (Saturday, November 11), a nationally observed holiday that honors and pays tribute to all military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Carry Forward 5k race hosted by Invited is open to both Invited club members and non-members. To sign up for the race and donate, please follow this link.

Invited has a history of supporting American war veterans and works closely with the U.S. Department of Defense on numerous initiatives. As part of the SkillBridge program, Invited recruits and hires service members as interns, offering them professional experiences at Invited clubs. In 2022, 38 former service members participated in the program, with more than 50 approved candidates to join Invited in 2023.

Additionally, Invited has held numerous programs and initiatives over the years supporting veterans and service members returning home from a deployment. For a number of years, Invited has hosted The George W. Bush Institute Warrior Open, a highly competitive golf tournament for American wounded service members; and has provided more than $6 million in honorary club memberships to American veterans.

Invited also donates to the On Course Foundation, Folds of Honor, PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) and other organizations to meet the unique needs of military personnel and disabled veterans. Invited supports these organizations in a variety of ways including in-kind donations, fundraising events and offers veterans access to its golf courses. Several of Invited clubs are sites for the PGA’s HOPE initiative which introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to help with physical, mental, social and emotional well-being through a developmental two-month curriculum taught by PGA Professionals. The classes are free to all Veterans.

“It is an honor for Invited and our clubs to support American veterans and thank them for their unrelenting bravery and dedication to protecting Americans around the world and defending our values. We thank our veterans and military personnel for laying the foundation in which future generations can live in peace. Invited has a long history of creating programs and supporting American veterans and we will continue to build on our initiatives and create more opportunities for the brave men and women of our armed forces,” said Invited CEO David Pillsbury
